rED COATS & Lobster Backs
The British wore red coats and cocked hats made of bearskin. Because of the British wearing their red coats they got the nickname "Red Coats" or "lobster back". Lobster back was givin its name by the Rebles to make fun of there bright clownly coats.Having these bright red coats where made to intimidate the Rebels. The bright red coats also have a disadvantage; it’s an easy target for the Rebels. Another disadvantage is that they can’t blend in to their environment. While taking advantage the Rebels they made their cloths brown to blend in better to their environment. British would often wear bright yellow buttons representing there ranking in the war. The red coats offend started off white and dyed with coffee beans, perfect example of what the redcoats. Down below are some examples of what the British would wear in battle.
